Tails of India

It's week 7 of the pet photographers 52 week project and the theme is "tails", but I won't be showing you local Dallas - Fort Worth dogs and cats. As you read this I'll be jetting my way home from vacation in India so this week's post is brought to you from my holiday. I saw so many animals here; cows (which are sacred) and monkeys roaming the streets, goals, and of course dogs and cats. I decided to focus on the tails that I saw at one stop during the week, my visit to Agra Fort, the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638 when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. Despite being called a fort, it's really more like a walled city.

The Fort's most famous resident is likely the Shah Jahan, the Mughal emperor who reigned from 1628 to 1658; it was he who commissioned the building of the Taj Mahal to house the tomb of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. See below for a gratuitous photo of the Taj Mahal because that's what we did the day before we went to the Fort :).

Yes that is my photograph. Yes I was standing there and yes, it truly was breathtaking.
