The backdrop paper color is called "marmalade" and I've heard other pet photographers rave about it so I purchased a roll myself and have been waiting for the perfect subject to try it out. Sharkie was just that subject. Now I see what all the fuss is about. The color is so rich and saturated, I knew Sharkie's beautiful Russian Blue coat and yellow eyes would look amazing on it and I was right!
Sharkie has come a long way from the once-shy, semi-feral kitten that Coppell Humane Society scooped up from a scary Dallas-area shelter. She's petite and likely will only be about 8lbs as an adult. She is amazing with other cats and is definitely a cat's cat, so another playful cat or kitten is a must. She is very food and treat motivated. Visit the Coppell Humane Society website to learn more about her and how you can adopt.

Even though she was a bit unsure about the whole process of a professional pet portrait session, we still got a number of great images of Sharkie. I adore photographing cats. They're just so different from dogs. You have to go slow and scratch and nuzzle them a bit to get them to relax, but when they do, they start doing awesome cat stuff that looks great in images. With such a bright background, we couldn't resist putting in a touch of spring and Sharkie handled it like a champ, curling her tail around the flower in the cutest way. Sharkie is looking for her forever home, if that could be you, please contact the Coppell Humane Society to learn how you can submit an application to adopt her.
