Into the Woods

I recently traveled to Toronto, Canada for the Dogs in Action 3.0 workshop taught by the internationally lauded, Claudio Piccoli. After all the running and jumping, we spent some time in the woods taking portraits of the athletes in more quieter moments. For this I decided to bring my ultra wide angle lens and have a bit of fun.

Typically you don't reach for a wide angle lens for portraits because it distorts the subject (see those looong legs and reallly tall trees?), but sometimes you need to have some fun and embrace the silliness. I really enjoyed the results and will definitely plan to use this lens more during portrait sessions to add variety and fun to the session reveal. These images would be a great to include in an album or story print.

When this week's theme for the Pet Photography 52 Week Project was announced as "into the woods", I knew exactly the images I wanted to use. Now off to find some forest areas here in the Dallas area to recreate this look a bit closer to home!

Now over the river and through the woods to see what Linda Perdue of VP Shoots Photography serving the Tampa Bay, Florida area has to share for "into the woods" and then continue clicking on the link at the bottom of each blog post for an around the world tour of fabulous pet photography.
