I’m Tracy, I own a T-shirt that says "I'm not going if I can't bring my camera". Holding a camera, anywhere, is my happy place. I was a frustrated artist for decades, moving from charcoal to pastels, to watercolor and oils, I never felt at home with any medium – until the day I picked up a camera and by accident, created an image that would change everything for me and started me on the relentless pursuit of mastery; I had found my creative home.
How would you describe me? I’m an escapee from the corporate world, retiring from an international sales career at the end of 2013, and am now a Dallas - Fort Worth pet, family, and headshot photographer. I've been to every continent; North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and as of 2025, Antarctica!
All my kids have four legs; the current headcount is three dogs but it tends to change quite often with the comings and goings of foster pets.
I'm a retired professional dog trainer (CPDT-KSA), shelter and rescue volunteer and horse-crazy girl. Africa is my favorite place on the planet. I can sleep anywhere (and often do). I love a good romantic comedy and spy thrillers. I'm a voracious reader of just about everything, but especially books about animals. And mountain climbing. Don't know where that last one comes from, but I'm obsessed.
I believe in love at first sight because I fall in love with every animal I meet. Except spiders. I don’t love spiders.
We've fostered for several rescue groups over the years and have rescued from Dallas, Irving, Coppell, Lewisville and Operation Kindness, so we've covered the metroplex!
If you're wondering where the name "Penny Whistle" came from, well it's no accident. Penny was our first furkid and was with us for thirteen years. I wanted to honor her in some way and loved the idea that a penny whistle was also a children's toy. My logo was created especially for me by a very talented local artist, Meagan Johnson of Lil' d Dog Works.
Apart from my love of animals and support of local rescue groups and shelters, my other passion is involvement with Special Olympics. I'd been a financial supporter for decades, but a few years ago I started volunteering with Coppell Special Olympics; from Basketball in January to Bowling in November, I show up for every sport and event that I can - it's the high point of my week. I prefer to spend time with the athletes, but occasionally I bring my camera when their photographer cannot make an event.
"Tracy is a brilliant photographer! Her artistic eye and attention to detail guarantee you will be beyond delighted with your photos."

I am a Master of Photography, Photographic Craftsman, and Certified Professional Photographer, holding the M.Photog., Cr.Photog., and CPP degrees from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).
The Master of Photography degree is an achievement of the highest caliber. It means that I've met the standards of excellence set by PPA. I earned this degree in January of 2023 in recognition of superior photographic competence demonstrated through image excellence, advanced education, and service to the profession.
Every industry has its benchmark. The Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) designation is ours. No matter the specialty, the CPP is a fundamental step in mastering the craft of photography. I earned my CPP in 2018 and have maintained the certification ever since through ongoing continuing education.
The Photographic Craftsman degree is a prestigious achievement that honors individuals who have demonstrated excellence as speakers, writers, and mentors within the photographic industry, as recognized by PPA’s professional standards.
"Found my photographer and I’ll never use another. Tracy is absolutely incredible. Professional, responsive, patient and extremely talented. So grateful to have a photographer of this caliber in DFW - she even gave us a beautiful gift bag for our first session. She can do it all! Thank you, Tracy!"

"I am so glad I decided to get pictures of my Moana before she totally grew up; these are memories that I will cherish forever!! Tracy gets down and dirty to achieve these perfect shots, the hardest part after the shoot was narrowing them down because I really wanted all of the pictures!!"
