Under

It's week 41 of my personal photography project, the Pet Photography 52 Week Project, and the subject is "under". These kittens came into the studio for their adoption photos for a local rescue group that I volunteer with so I thought it would be fun to play with their natural curiosity and brought out a floppy basket that I had on hand and the kittens took care of the rest to make for more interesting images which highlighted their playful nature. I'm not gonna lie; the image of the three of them together took a few frames to get!

Under Stuff in the Studio

Under Leaves and Trees

I'm always looking for things to put dogs under when I'm on location and you don't need much to create an interesting photograph. These two images were taken about three feet apart in my own back yard. But what a difference the time of day and the textures in the images make. The left image was photographed in the shade of sunrise, so it's got a bit of both the blue, and the golden hour tones going on. The image on the right was photographed in the heat of the mid-day sun, we HAD to go under the tree just to find some shade.

Under Overpasses

Overpasses provide more than just a respite from the mid-day sun, the light underneath them is typically very pretty and sometimes you'll find interesting graffiti too!

Under Doorways

Doorways, whether they're a barn door, garage or the front door of your home, provide some of the prettiest light you'll find. You'll often her photographers say they like "garage light", what they mean is that they love the light in a garage doorway.

Time to head on over to see what other photographers have done with "under" starting with Pet Love Photography, serving Greater Cincinnati, the San Francisco Bay Area, and destinations nationwide and keep clicking on the link at the bottom of each post for an around-the-world tour of fabulous pet photography!
