A Different Perspective

This week I used the prompt for the Pet Photography 52 week project to challenge myself.  The theme is "perspective". The challenge I set for myself was to take a 50mm prime lens (if you want zoom with a prime less, you zoom with your feet!) and set the clock for 30 minutes. How many unique images could I produce using different perspectives from a single location? Along with me on this challenge was my best model, Ginger, and the location was the trailhead entrance to the Elm Form Nature Preserve in Carrollton, Texas. Take a look below at just a few of the disparate looks we created while the clock ticked down to zero.

Ginger, from different perspectives

Ginger's portrait session was brought you by this rock!

All of the above images were take on or from the rock that Ginger is standing on below. That was the rule I set for myself and we chose this rock because a) the larger rock to the left blocked the harsh sun b) Ginger could jump up onto it and c) I could climb up on it. Either Ginger or myself had to be on the rock for the image.

I moved around the rock. Got on it and photographed below. Lay down on the ground and aimed up at her and of course photographed a few images at her eye level. This was a great exercise to see how much I could make out of a single location in a set period of time; much like a real client session!

Would you have known these were all taken in the exact same location if I hadn't told you?
