It's week 49 of my personal photography project and that means that Christmas is right around the corner so here's a little something to get you in the mood for the big day; I'd like you to meet Theodore Bear (aka "Teddy") and Jaxon.

This week's theme is "high key" which technically means a lighting set up that reduces, or even eliminates harsh shadows so you'll typically seen it done with a white background. You likely see high-key lighting every day if you do any shopping on the internet. Product pictures are famously photographed with high-key lighting to best display the item without distracting shadows that may obscure an important element. With live subjects I do like the hint of a shadow underneath them to "ground" them in the image, otherwise it can feel like they're floating in space - not good for little boys and fluffy dogs! 

Teddy and Jaxon's mom wanted a high key look to really bring the attention to the boys matching pajamas (too cute, right?) and in this case I think high-key lighting works well and adds to the fun of the images.
