Film Noir

Film noir. The theme for week 45 of the Pet Photography 52 Week Project. I'm not going to lie, this one had me scratching my head and pressed for time now that I'm in the thick of my busiest time of the year. Then I remembered a photograph I had take a couple of years ago that I thought might fit the bill with some enhanced retouching (and yes, I am VERY organized, knew exactly what I was looking for and right where to find it).

This was a fun exercise as I don't often use presets in my retouching workflow. I prefer to develop an image the way I want to, not with a cookie-cutter recipe of edits, but I embraced my presets for this challenge and went trolling through to finally put together 4 of them to develop this moody image of Ginger in one of my husbands vintage cars (which I thought was fitting); my original edit is below.

Now on to Elaine Tweedy of I Got the Shot Photography, capturing furry moments for pets and their people in Northeastern PA and surrounding areas to see what they've come up with for this week's theme of "film noir" and then continue clicking on the link at the bottom of each post for an around the world tour of dark and moody pet photography.
